Game 2: Ducks @ Predators 10.9.10

OPINION:
It's going to be a long season folks! Enjoy....
POST GAME QUOTES:
"It's tough to play from behind all the time but we're at game two right now and we're a learning team," Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf said. "We've got to take things out of tonight and go forward with it."It's a matter of learning from your mistakes and moving on."
"I think we hit four crossbars tonight," Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. "It was like anything we were directing at the net was finding a way to either hit their goaltender and him make the stop or we rang it off the post or the crossbar a couple of times.
"It seems that was the difference. When we had our chances, we just didn't bury them."

Game 73: Ducks @ Predators 3.24.09

GAME DAY QUOTES
"He's so big that when he goes down, he can cover the whole bottom of the net from post-to-post," Selanne said of Rinne, a fellow Finn. "I had a chance to see what our three other shooters were doing, and I decided to go with that move."
Said Rinne: "He's very good at the shootout because he has good moves and fakes his shot really well. He was always my hero watching national team games. It's been nice to face him a few times."
"I just tried to react to what they were doing," Giguere said. "There's no way to know what they are going to do, so it is more of a guess."
"Points are at a premium," Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle said. "Both teams are in desperation mode, but we were fortunate enough to steal an extra point in the shootout."

Game 55: Ducks @ Predators 2.5.09

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GAME DAY QUOTES:
"The first goal bounces in off of our defenseman," Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle said. "It hits two or three people and then hits our defenseman in the foot and we're down 1-0. But we came back with a big goal. We played with everything we had. You have to like the effort of our hockey club."
"It's nice to go one full game and have some positives to build on," said Giguere, who stopped 30 shots. "I felt my energy was good. Hopefully, this is the beginning of a better second half."
“Especially in the third, I felt really good,” Giguere said. “In the third, it wasn’t a battle in my head. I was just playing and reacting and having fun, really. It felt good to be able to be on the ice and not think, just to play and react. It had been a while.”
Said Randy Carlyle, “Hopefully, it’s a starting point for Jiggy. He made some big stops. He gave us a chance, gave us everything he had. That’s a huge positive. It’s good to see him back in the net.”
“I blame myself probably,” Carlyle said. “I felt I should have called a timeout right when they got the penalty, just to reorganize, make sure everything was the way we wanted it. We had different personnel because Getzlaf was in the box.”
“I’m here to prove that I can stay here,” [Brown] said. “That’s basically where I can start, just playing the way I can play and play more than a hundred percent every game, every shift.”
“We’re close,” Giguere said. “It’s a matter of us battling a little bit harder in our zone not to give that extra goal, going to the net maybe a couple more times and creating a bounce for us. We’re really not that far. We just have to keep with the positives and try to push forward.”

Game 49: Ducks @ Predators
DUCKS WIN 2 - 1!!
PERIOD 1: 1 - 0
PERIOD 2: 1 - 0
PERIOD 3: 2 - 1
Bochenski and Perry with the two goals! That was Perry's 25th goal of the season, and Bochenski got his 2nd. Good game, they survived. Pronger left the 1st period after blocking a shot and has a bruised knee. Not very happy about that, but I am happy the Ducks were able to pull of this win. Good way to start this road trip. Also, as of RIGHT NOW the Ducks have taken over the 1st place spot. We only keep that if SJ loses to Dallas tonight *Crosses Fingers*.

Game 31: Ducks @ Predators
PERIOD 1: 0 - 2
PERIOD 2: 1 - 3
PERIOD 3: 2 - 4
I can't be mad with them tonight, this was a game where they tried. So long as they try I don't get too mad about losing. They appeared pretty tired from my viewpoint... and that's to be expected. They did have a strong game last night. I know I'd be tired. Anywho, good try there boys. On to Monday!
