Game 16: Ducks @ Sharks 11.9.10

OPINION:
It's games like these ones. Games like these ones where you for sure know they don't deserve the win, but somehow, like a GREAT team, they figure out how to pull it off. Sure, it wasn't in regular time. But they got it figured out before the shootout. They stole two points from San Jose, and nothing makes me feel happier right now.

OPINION:
All I have to say is: WHERE WAS THIS TEAM THAT PLAYED THOSE LAST TEN MINUTES, FOR THE WHOLE ENTIRE 50 MINUTES PRIOR. I don't like when they have a lightbulb turn on and they right their ship when there's only fractions of a period left to go. It's that TOO LITTLE, TOO LATE scenerio that I DON'T LIKE. I don't like when they do it because then they get my hopes up even though I know better and know it'll still be a loss. I can't handle games that work that way. Unless of course it actually worked out where they did steal the win. BUT NOT TONIGHT THEY DIDN'T.

San Jose? We played with San Jose? I didn't see any SJ game, did you?

Bah Humbug.

Ducks Lose 2 - 1 :(

PERIOD 1: 0 - 1
PERIOD 2: 1 - 1
PERIOD 3: 1 - 2

Let's put it in simple terms. Sharks wanted it more, A LOT more. Ducks played like jellyfish... 0, yes that's a ZERO, shots on goal in the entire 3rd period from the Ducks. I don't even know! We had Hiller in net and nobody knows why... something happened to Jiggy during warmups and that's all we know right now... Hiller did a fantastic job and stood on his head, kept us in this one. He even took a puck to the helmet that gave him what Hazy called a "pressure cut" and literally laughed it off and stayed in the game. He continues to amaze me, I feel more and more confident when they put him in. With all that went on, the score was only 2 to 1, the Sharks, even with their heart and determination, still barely beat us with our backup in, without Pronger, and without Perry. Let's just hope they are streaking way too soon and that they can't keep up this hotness for the playoffs TOO. This loss just made it NEAR impossible for the Ducks to get the Division... it'll take a strong miracle to get it now. I'll cling to that. Had we have won tonight we would have only needed 1 more point to clinch a playoff birth, but our magic number remains at 3.

This was an absolutely great game. They got a LITTLE sloppy in the 3rd but still pulled off a great win. Nicely done, right before the holidays. Merry Christmas, or Happy Holidays!! Still completely amazed with Scotty. You know.. when you don't have him for half a season, you forget what it's like to have him on the ice a little, you know he's awesome, but you just forget HOW awesome. These games with him in prove just how awesome he is. This week we played 4 games, and got 7 out of 8 points and only have allowed a total of 4 goals in that time period.

Can you imagine if/when (I prefer the term "when") Teemu returns... oh MY Goodness!! Ahhhhh.

Revenge in a dominant fashion is SWEEEEEET!! Jiggy records his first shutout of the season, actually, his first since December 6th of last year. Nicely done. Bobby Ryan contributes again (someone doesn't want to go back to Portland), and Corey Perry contributed also. A VERY nicely done job tonight. Lets go with best game of the season. And I still love the fact that Scotty is out on that ice again. :D Tonight... they looked like the Ducks from last year... it only will continue. :D A very big 2 points tonight as well.

SHOOTOUT GURUS!! Giguere is THE MAN!!!! I'm still weary of them but I'm also starting to not hate them AS much... though I would prefer regulation wins (who wouldn't?), I'll take a shootout win (or an OT win) as well.

Sweet game! We could have easily won in regulation too, as there were two times that the puck was inches away from crossing that line... but I'll take it. I'll take it I'll take it!!
