Game 35: Ducks @ Islanders 12.16.10

OPINION:
What is there to say when you lose to the Islanders? I'm pretty speechless right now, along with embarrassed.
Third time this year the Ducks have lost to the worst team in the NHL. Maybe they'll learn to stop underestimating their opponent? Or maybe not.

Also pretty amusing (in the I'm not so amused, way) is it took all of 99 seconds for the Islanders to win the game. 3 goals, in 99 seconds to be exact. And it was only their 2nd win in a span of 22 games. Tell me you're not embarrassed....

POST GAME QUOTES:
"Tonight, things were tough around here," Blake said. "We have to forget about it and move on."

This is what rock bottom looks like?

Game Day Quotes:
"We probably had 15, 20 point-blank shots, but it hit the post or he got a pad on it, whatever,” said Perry of Danis. “Until they scored those first two goals, they were giving it to us. We finally clicked in and said ‘Oh, we have a game here.’ Then we started to play. By then, it was too late. We talk about that. We can’t have those kinds of starts.”

“We have to use the break, take a step back and not worry too much about what has happened, but worry about what’s coming up,” Giguere said. “It’s going to be a good four days for us to do that. I’m the first one who should do that.”

DUCKS WIN! 3-0!!

PERIOD 1: 0 - 0
PERIOD 2: 1 - 0
PERIOD 3: 3 - 0

Sorry for the late review of the game but things got a little crazy around here yesterday. Great way to bounce back from being shutout twice in a row, by giving a shutout to the opponent!! LOL. Jiggy technically got a back-to-back shutout, and recorded is 29th career shutout. Good job there Jiggy! Not going to get to high up on my horse because, face it, the Islander's aren't exactly a team to brag about beating... but after such a slump it's nice to get a win. :-) Teemu DID return this game, and I was in heaven! :D Watching him skate and pass and make plays... wow. He didn't even look like he's sat out for as long as he did. He's not at 100% but he'll be there soon enough and then really, watch out! I'm so glad he's back.
