Game 2: Ducks "vs" Kings

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket "vs" Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Period 1: 2 - 0

Period 2: 4 - 1

Period 3: 4 - 1

Now see this was the Ducks team that I remember. Yesterday is to be forgotten immediately. Today they played like they meant it the whole way through. Jonas Hiller was in net which made me happy because he impressed me in the pre-season, I wanted to see if it was a fluke, but it wasn't... he really IS a great goalie. He's very confident between the pipes and has great vision. And the team seems to feel comfortable with him in net too.

Corey Perry was 1 goal shy of a hat trick, I was hoping he'd get one to see if any "Londoners" in the audience would throw their hats.

Well the London trip is..I'd like to say over but they still have 3 road games to conquer, just not IN London, but it's grouped together with the London trip. I really feel bad for these guys, that traveling has got to suck. I get tired just flying to Minnesota or New York.. they had to go all the way to London, adjust to the time difference, and now they have to come back and adjust again. Yikes.

Great win today

Game 1: Ducks "at" Kings

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket "@" Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Period 1: 0 - 1

Period 2: 0 - 2

Period 3: 1 - 4

So I woke up by 8:30am out of sheer anticipation for this game. Excited. Pumped up. Ready to get the season started. And what I got to watch on My TV by 9:30am (there was a technical difficulty with the lights at the arena, resulting in about a half hour delay.) was dissapointing. The Ducks looked lost and confused while the Queens looks sharp and on their game.

Stanley Cup Hangover? I don't think so. We didn't play this way the whole game which is why I say that.

In the last half of the 3rd period we finally got a goal, by who other than Bobby Ryan... then for the last 5 or so minutes they played like what Ducks fans are used to seeing. They played like the wanted to win. That goal gave them this huge burst of energy.

Too little too late.
Losing to the Queens sucks. I hate nothing more than to lose to them.
Losing to them by a shutout would have stung worse than this... but thankfully we didn't allow that to happen.

I also found it amusing that I am older than the Kings goalie. He is only 19. And I am freshly 20 as of August 30th. Weird being older than rookies.

Tomorrow will be a different story.
Now I'm off to take a nap.

We win!!!!!! Killed em!

Tonights game was VERY good. It looked like the boys in black were back!! After two lowsy games and long practices as punishment for them, they FINALLY got their act together and pulled of an AMAZING win.

First- Bobby Ryan... That kid had 4 assists! He REALLY wants to make it on the team, and I can't help but to say, I hope he makes it!

Second- Jonas Hiller!!! MY GOD! He was spectacular. He got a shutout!!

Beauchemin returned to our line up and got a goal! It was a fantastic goal that suprised everyone when it got in there!
Bertuzzi got a SWEET goal.. made it look so easy to do.

What a GREAT way to send the boys off to London on a win! :)
So now there's no hockey again til Saturday *cries*

Regular season is ABOUT to begin.

Ducks win 5-0!!!!

Race for the Cure, Help save a boob!

Tomorrow is the Susan G. Komen race for the cure over in fashion island.
I am running on TEAM DUCKS, and I'm the captain of the team and it's taken me forever to organize this whole thing and tomorrow is the big day.
I don't think very many people read this, I haven't gotten my name out there yet for this blog.. but umm for those who DO read this... I want your money.

JUST KIDDING.

The charity wants your money. 100% proceeds go to research for finding the cure to Breast Cancer.. so IF you can, a donation would be sweet! If you can't well don't worry about it.

PENALTY!

Penalty is going to be a term the Ducks are familiar with AGAIN this year.
All THREE of San Jose's goals were results of power plays.
We had like 14 or something penalties against us.
They had three 2 man advantages.

We're going to be the most penalized team again. And while I like to gloat it worked for us last year, a bit of that had to do with luck. It's not gonna work every year, so I'd really like for them to knock it off.

I'd hate to be a ducks player at practice tomorrow!
RC is probably ticked out of his mind.

Ryan Getzlaf might be injured, or I should say hurt. Players can play hurt, they can't play injured.
A puck hit him square in the toe and he limped off the ice, returned for a short shift, and left the ice again.
He returned late in the game for the last shift of the night though, which says it must not be that bad.

Hope not. We don't need any more injuries as pre-season is coming to an end... regular season is but a week away!

In the end, we lose 3-1.
Oh and our lone goal was scored by none other than BOBBY RYAN.
That a boy, Bobby!

Impressive.

We lost to the Sharks

I'm behind here. Oy vey. Bear with me, it's pre-season. LOL
That seems to be the excuse for everything right now.

We lost- its only pre-season.
I'm behind on entries- its pre-season.

Ok so anyway last nights game in one word: Boring!
Even the players looked like they didn't want to be there.

Hmm.
So it was looking like it was going to an over-time round with 0-0 left on the clock late in the 3rd period.
Not so much.
The sharks managed to squeak one by within the last 5 minutes of the game.

So that sucked.
A boring game that even ended in a loss.

I'm used to the boring games ending in a win, because the boring games usually involve Phoenix.
o_O Yea I just went there.

UP TOMORROW: Ducks @ San Jose... I demand a rematch.. looks like I'm gonna get it!

Ohh whoops my bad!!! Strike one..

I forgot to post how last nights game went versus Vancouver!!! AHHHH.

Well it went well. We had a good strong first period, had a good secondperiod, kinda sorta got loose towards the end and let in a last minute type goal (like 4 minutes left and they score to tie the game).

So we head on over into OT and get the game winning goal.
Sorry folks, I have not learned rookie names yet, nor am I really planning on putting an effort into learning them until I HAVE to... so that is why the details are so spacey.

So in random news.. PARROS (Viva la Stache!) scored a goal AND had an assist last night. I fight short of a gordie howe hat trick. He was having an excellent night paried up quite nicely with Brad May. Their line if they stay on the same line, seem like they can do some damage!

And long story short we won 3-2 in OVERTIME.
Avoided the shootout, thank god.

Come back tomorrow night after the Sharks game for that recap.

We still suck at shootouts.

Tonight was actually boring. Um... games against PHX are always pretty boring.
We didn't play many of the upper level players.. a crap load of rookies played.

I wish we woulda had yesterdays lineup today... but why waste their energy on PHX?

Anyway we still suck at shootouts.. which is how we lost tonight.

The good thing is that pre-season doesn't count.
Hah.

I'm not impressed with a lot of the rookies.

A Poll to stimulate your mind!

I was bored, so here's a poll.

Ducks @ Queens pre-season game 2

So from what I am collecting from the radio.. we have a lot of veterans in the lineup today, which means it'd be nice to get a win. Even though pre-season means nothing, a win should be achievable.

Names I have heard: Schneider, Bertuzzi, Pronger, Getzlaf, Perry, O'd, Dipenta...

Right now the score is tied 1-1.
Ryan Carter knocked someone out and took a penalty, and that just ended.

But now we're having another penalty.

So many penalties I just can't keep up.
I'll come back with the final score when this game is over.

Peace!
-PD.

UPDATE: The Ducks have won this game.
Schneider ended up getting hurt, with a MINOR sprained ankle. Didn't sound too serious.
There were a ton of fights.

Sounded like a good game!

1st pre-season game!

Tonight was the first pre-season game of the year. We played the Queens. (For those of you who actually call them the Kings, well, whatever floats your boat, but I call them Queens.)

We lost 5-4 due to a late goal in the 3rd on their side.

There were a few people impressing me, a lot who didn't impress me at all.
It was a much less physical game than I thought it would be.. you know?
Pronger had some issues with the penalty box.. 4 times!

I happened to notice a kid get smacked in the face with a puck. That looked painful, but he seemed to be a trooper. What a story to share with the classmates the next day.

So that's that. It was REALLY nice to see Hockey again.
Good show ol chap.

Now I leave you with a poll.

Scott Niedermayer is holding a press conference at 1:30pm tomorrow to talk about his decision. He said he will NOT be at training camp.

Teemu Selanne has hinted he is comfortable with the notion of being retired, but still has not made up his mind.
