Let's get this out of the way and move forward before I fall more behind, shall we?
Game 42: Ducks vs. Blackhawks 1.2.11
Game 43: Ducks vs. Predators 1.5.11
Game 44: Ducks vs. Blue Jackets 1.7.11
Game 45: Ducks vs. Sharks 1.9.11
Okay then....3-1-0 in those last 4 games. Awesome. All I have to say is Jonas Hiller is a beast! Now let's get back to our regularly scheduled blog posts and stop falling behind! :)
OPINION: So really, honestly, I don't want to have this SAME weekend all over again NEXT weekend. Seriously?? We have the same exact trip next weekend. Saturday and Nashville, AGAIN. And Sunday in Chicago AGAIN. I like that they can get revenge so close together, but I don't think they'll be getting revenge. It just doesn't seem very fair. Ughhh. 2010 is looking worse and worse for the Ducks. Next is the RED WINGS. You gotta be kidding me. They're plagued with injuries and could probably still kill us. I'm not looking forward to it. This is what I'm being drawn to... not looking forward to games. It's not supposed to be that way! I want to believe that they will get healthy from their stupid injuries and go on this massive tear, but they haven't given me any reason to really believe that. I want to believe they'll be in a playoff spot in April, but so far they're just giving me a heads up that it'll be a long summer for Ducks fans. I want to think this was just a bad start to the season but they're half way through this. *Big Sigh* I need to sleep off this anger and disappointment.
POST GAME QUOTES: "We had our fair share of chances," Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle said. "We had 2-on-1s, hit the posts and had scoring opportunities. He (Antii Niemi) made some big stops, but we didn't do enough to force him."
"I know he's been playing unbelievable," Nokelainen said. "He's a good goalie and a great story. He's like any other big guy these days, they cover so much of the net."
"He stopped me a couple of times in the first," Nokelainen said. "I have to bear down and bury those chances early. When it's a 5-0 game, it really doesn't matter much."

Bobby Ryan had his first NHL hat-trick tonight that was done in the span of 2:21. It was a natural hat trick, a rookie record for the Ducks, and the fastest in Ducks history. Major major kudos goes to Bobby Ryan.
------------------------------------------------------- GAME DAY QUOTES: "It's a tough defeat when you have a good night when everybody's not going as well as they'd like to," Ryan said. "We got behind the eight ball early and gave them too many opportunities. We didn't deserve the two points tonight."
"Until we got back to back power plays at the end of the second period, we didn’t have a very good game," said Ducks coach Randy Carlyle. "We didn’t do much to warrant being in the hockey game."
“I didn’t think he was square to the puck on the first goal and I didn’t think he was square to the puck on the second," Carlyle said. "The puck, in my mind, should not go in from those angles on the stick side on both goals, so I made the decision.”
“You don’t win if you don’t work," said Ducks captain Scott Niedermayer. "It’s a pretty simple ingredient in the game of hockey and we didn’t do it for the full game and they did for the most part. We expect good things to happen after playing a few games of playing our brand of hockey. It doesn’t just happen. It takes the hard work and the commitment that maybe we weren’t quite ready to bring today.”
Game Day Graphics are now made by me, if you would like to use them please ask first, chances are likely I will say yes, but it is courteous to ask before taking. Thank you!
This blog contains game day posts with all the details you need to know about the game, it features post game quotes from the players so you can get their point of view from the game, and in the off-season it contains news stories on a need-to-know basis. I might make comments here and there in some posts that should be considered MY opinion and/or point of view and should not be taken as FACT. I am not affiliated with the Anaheim Ducks team, I am just a fan of the game and a fan of the Ducks.
