Woo what a loss that was.
PERIOD 1: 0 - 1
PERIOD 2: 1 - 3
PERIOD 3: 1 - 3
Giguere got pulled in the 2nd period. He was playing just fine, the D in front of him was not. RC felt he had to pull Jiggy to light a fire under the team. So let it be known, he was not pulled for playing poorly, he was pulled to wake the team up. (According to the intermission report, for you persnickety readers needing the cold hard facts from a blog.) A newspaper article; however, stated RC was unhappy with Giguere's play, so many goals after few shots on goal was unacceptable. I apologize for posting the TV's version of things. They, and I, were wrong.)
The first period sucked. No legs. No skating. Standing around. Sluggish.
The second period was rocky, but they managed to get a goal on a 5 on 3.
Third period got a little heated, they showed frustration.
In a better light, it IS almost November, which means this kind of stuff is almost over. In my opinion we'll be getting Scott and Teemu back towards the end of November, so I just have to bite my lip until then. Keywords there were: In My Opinion. Don't take what I just said as fact, but take it as you will.

What Would Scotty Do?

How do you know the reason RC pulled Giguere? Were you on the bench? Do you know RC? Are you a mind reader?
The RC article I read said RC pulled him because that many goals on a low number of shots is not acceptable and might have been a result of Giguere either being in pain or still not game ready.
I guess youre going off of the radio comments? Were the commentators on the bench with RC? Before you post a "reason" for something, get the facts straight.
re: ducksfreak:
Unacceptable play by whom? The team, who needed the fire lit under them, or Giguere all by himself? Two of those three goals were due to lack of defense because defense just stood around. My facts come from the TV comments made during intermission. Randy has said he USUALLY doesn't pull the goalie for poor play, rather in order to light a fire under the team. If you don't like my blog, no one forces you to read it. You are free to go make your own blog, with your own perspective there. Until then, if you feel the need to bash my postings, feel free, but no one is amused but yourself.
Have a nice day!
Also, when Carlyle calls for a grueling hour-long practice the next day (which was not originally the plan) and tells the media that, "The score was 3-1 and I thought that was flattering" -- it seems to suggest that he thought the score could have been a whole lot worse if our goaltending hadn't been the way it was. It suggests that he thought the team wasn't really in it -- did Giguere miss some that he likely shouldn't have, yes -- but, anyone watching the game also knows the team just wasn't skating, wasn't really on their usual game. RCs comments suggest the team was lacking - not Giguere.
