The Ducks announced today the signing of defenseman Steve McCarthy to a one-year contract. Per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed.

Not sure if this is a good move or bad move. On the plus side, he can provide veteran leadership. On the minus side, he's likely going to be scratched often. Being a Vancouver resident, I remember seeing him with the Canucks a few years ago and he was pretty much invisible for most nights.
I don't particularly care for the move. If he's the healthy scratch most nights then I don't care about it. If he's out there playing he needs to step up his game.
