Game 19: Ducks vs. Kings 11.17.11

POST GAME QUOTES:
"It felt good that we were back in the hockey game," said Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf. "We battled back as hard as we could and got the big goals when we needed them. Unfortunately, we gave up one at the end that ended up costing us."

"That is the most frustrating part is we tied the game late," said Cogliano. "With three minutes left, we could either try to win the game or go into overtime and get a point. We let that slip away late and gave them the two points."

"It’s always tough playing from behind and we played from behind most of the night," said Ducks coach Randy Carlyle. "We got fired up in the game in the third period. We started to play with that emotion and got skating. It seems we have to get hit over the head to get to that point."

"We have to move on," Cogliano said. "We play Detroit on Sunday. You can’t hang your head."

"We showed a lot of good things tonight," Getzlaf said. "We have to continue to build on those things. I’m confident in this group. If we keep working the way we are, we’ll turn things around."

OPINION:
Well, as a Ducks fan nothing makes me happier than watching the Ducks shutout the Kings. Their bandwagon made its way into Honda Center and nobody would be the wiser because the Ducks gave them absolutely nothing to cheer about. They say silence is golden, and when it comes to keeping Kings fans quiet, it really is. Hiller was absolutely on fire, and completely robbed Kopitar at the end for what I consider the game winning save. The entire 2nd line was beastly and a force to be reckoned with, and Cam Fowler (Still can't believe we got him in the 12th round when he was projected to go as fast as 3rd!) had his best game in a Ducks uni, in my opinion. Absolute great game.

POST GAME QUOTES:
"We didn’t play too well the last few games at home, and we wanted to show we could play better," Hiller said. "Everybody played quite well tonight. If we play like that every night, we’ll always have a good chance."

"He (Hiller) played outstanding and made some great, timely saves," Blake said. "In the first period, they came out with more energy and established their game plan. He bailed us out."

"I just stepped on the ice and the puck came to me," Blake said. "We had some great opportunities in the second period and the third. I was just fortunate that it went in."

"That’s the type of game our hockey club has to play night in and night out," said Ducks coach Randy Carlyle. "It was a good one for us. We had an effort from every member of our group. That is what is important. The true display was at the end of the game, when people that were on the ice were sacrificing their bodies to block shots and get into shooting lanes to protect that shutout for Jonas Hiller."

"We found a way and didn’t back off," Hiller said. "We can be happy with this win and it’s something we can build on."

Game 59: Ducks vs. Kings 2.18.09

Ducks Lose 4-3

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GAME DAY QUOTES:
"We’re disappointed," said Scott Niedermayer. "I think for the most part we worked hard and did a lot of things we wanted to do. Obviously, we had some mistakes happen and some dumb decisions. The Kings played a good game as well. We just had the breakdowns and the plays that gave the game away."

"On my part, to end up in the box like that, you’re not going to win by doing that," Niedermayer said.

Said coach Randy Carlyle of Niedermayer, "He’s trying to carry the team. It’s very plain to see that he’s trying to do things that are going to make a difference for our hockey club. Sometimes it works. He’s human. He is going to make mistakes, but you have to appreciate the will and the effort that he puts in."

"I think what we have to do is just realize that we have an opportunity and a challenge in front of us," said Scott Niedermayer. "We have to try and meet it. You can forget what the plan was back in September right now. We just have to deal with what is in front of us."

PERIOD 1: 2 - 1

PERIOD 2: 3 - 1

PERIOD 3: 3 - 3

Over Time: 3 - 3

Shoot Out: 4 - 3

Hell yeah!!!!! 3rd shootout win in a row!!!!!! :D Yayyyyy!! I'd much rather they have won it in regulation though and NOT give those retards up the street 1 point but whatever, I'll take this, we still beat them. :) Wooo. I have to say, if you've never encountered a Queens fan, consider yourself lucky. They are the most ruthless fans on the planet. Raider nation in hockey form. Rude yelling things during the Anthem while a sargent is singing it (that's just distrubingly rude), and ruthless when they even score 1 goal. [[Alright I'm being unfair, there ARE some Queen's fans out there that know how to behave, but lets make that keyword SOME]].

So who saw that Pronger fight eh? Pronger must have really been ticked off because he doesn't fight much, but that retard who provoked it deserved it if he made Pronger that mad. Don't piss that guy off. Pronger knocked that kid out for a lil bit and knocked his mouth piece right outta his mouth. Just don't piss him off.

I should add in don't piss Getzlaf off either, but I like watching him when he's pissed. He's got spunk. And he takes his anger out not only on the player(s) that pissed him off, he takes it out on the net too.

Good game. Well worth missing art class for.
