Game 19: Ducks @ Blackhawks 11.14.10

OPINION:
Well, there goes the win streak, BUT the Ducks remain undefeated in 7 games in regulation. That's something. Like always, I'll take the point, but I really wanted both points. I'm sure you feel the same way. Hiller had some amazing saves that made him look absolutely brilliant and I'm going to say he's why the Ducks got the point. Why the Ducks didn't get both points is because the Ducks played a little too much passing in the overtime period, which they went into with the man advantage (4-on-3). They passed too much, toying with their advantage, and didn't shoot enough. That advantage dwindled and the Hawks took their advantage of surviving that penalty kill. It is what it is. The Ducks now go to Dallas, looking to start a new streak, and keep the unbeaten in regulation streak alive.

POST GAME QUOTES:
"We didn't play the way we really wanted to play," Perry said. "We haven't played that way in a while. Got a point out of it, got to take the positive out of that game. They took it to us in the second and third."

"You never want to give up opportunities on the power play," said Hiller, who needed stitches to close a cut above his left eye after he was struck by a puck during practice Saturday. "I think they have enough great players out there, they make a difference."

"We didn't have very much energy tonight, we looked tired," Ducks coach Randy Carlyle said. "We've played an awful lot of hockey, and we didn't look like we had the crispness, but we still found a way to get a point."

Ducks Lose 3 - 0

PERIOD 1: 0 - 1
PERIOD 2: 0 - 1
PERIOD 3: 0 - 3

So I'm going to be honest here, I didn't watch this game. I was out at Disneyland and YES I'm blaming myself for the loss. LOL. Every time I am at Disneyland during a game we lose, so I wont be doing that anymore. MY BAD!! But I did listen to what the radio I had with me would pick up and it sounded like Chicago completely deserved their win. We weren't playing "Ducks" hockey and in an honest opinion, what I did catch it just sounded like we were fighting and got thrown off of our game in that sense. That's not a good way to win a game if you catch my drift, and it also sounded like they weren't getting many shots on goal.. 1 shot on goal in the 1st period? Seriously? Nope. Congrats to Chicago, they did deserve the win.

QUOTES OF THE GAME:

"We didn't play very well, it's as simple as that," Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle said. "They had more energy that we did and their execution was to a higher level. Our offensive players for whatever reason tonight didn't have much going." -- Head Coach, Randy Carlyle

"We didn't play to our level," said Pronger, who wore a face shield. "When we don't to that, teams beat us. We did get some traffic in front, but (Crawford) was able to see everything and they were able to box us out."-- Chris Pronger

"A few guys were taking advantage of his injury," Parros said. -- George Parros

PERIOD 1: 1 - 1

PERIOD 2: 3 - 2

PERIOD 3: 5 - 3

Hooray Hooray!! Another game where they kept up the pace. In the 3rd, Chicago looked a little tired eh? Well they did have that last minute goal around the 1:30 mark, but then Kunitz gets the empty netter, and with that the final score of 5 to 3. :) Good game good game... Now on to tomorrow... :)
