Shoot Canada trips aren't very nice to the Ducks. First 2 periods were craptacular, but they came out strong in the 3rd. Unfortunately, 20 mins of good hockey doesn't win games. It takes the full 60. Sigh. Oh well. Let's bring in the new year and start the 2nd half of the season on the right foot with a win at home. GO DUCKS.

There's no other way to put this but we blew this game. Sat back on our heels once we had the 3 - 1 lead and Calgary took full advantage. I'm a little mad about it. I'm also mad about the goal we HAD but that stupid zebra blew his whistle too quick. Might have made a huge difference too but what can ya do?

On to tomorrow. I'll convince myself they were saving their energy for Vancouver. :P Whatever.

Game 39: Ducks @ Oilers

Very nice game tonight.. they started off slow (as usual) but returned to game form throughout the game. Two things to note that stick out in my head. 1. The Bobby Ryan pass to Weight for the game winning goal. Total beauty! Those two work very very nicely together, and I'm lovin' it. and 2. The hit Stoll laid on Scotty. BOO TO YOU!! Jerk. That had potential to be dangerous, and watching the replay made me cringe and it made my stomach turn. I'm sure it wasn't intended to be that bad, but man, that looked like it hurt. Of course, a sigh of relief also happened when Scotty popped right back up and skated away without even looking at Stoll. I was hoping Parros would jump out and knock him down, but you know.. instead we got that Weight goal, which is better anyways. :P

Game 38: Ducks @ Sharks

This was an absolutely great game. They got a LITTLE sloppy in the 3rd but still pulled off a great win. Nicely done, right before the holidays. Merry Christmas, or Happy Holidays!! Still completely amazed with Scotty. You know.. when you don't have him for half a season, you forget what it's like to have him on the ice a little, you know he's awesome, but you just forget HOW awesome. These games with him in prove just how awesome he is. This week we played 4 games, and got 7 out of 8 points and only have allowed a total of 4 goals in that time period.

Can you imagine if/when (I prefer the term "when") Teemu returns... oh MY Goodness!! Ahhhhh.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone (that celebrates Christmas, or otherwise Happy Holidays!). Blog wont have any content til after Christmas, so enjoy the Holidays. :)

Amazing. This could have been a blowout with all the wide open net space the Ducks missed but in the end we won anyways. We out shot Colorado by a landslide... a big 2 points for us. And again... 3rd game for Scotty, only 2 goals allowed since then. Even with Hiller in net. People wanna say he wont make a huge difference, but it shows. It shows! The OT winner was beautiful too. You could see it happen before it happened. Awesome!

On a side note.. that was the last home game at the Honda Center for 2007. Next time I enter that building, it'll be 2008. WOW!

Game 36: Ducks @ Sharks

Revenge in a dominant fashion is SWEEEEEET!! Jiggy records his first shutout of the season, actually, his first since December 6th of last year. Nicely done. Bobby Ryan contributes again (someone doesn't want to go back to Portland), and Corey Perry contributed also. A VERY nicely done job tonight. Lets go with best game of the season. And I still love the fact that Scotty is out on that ice again. :D Tonight... they looked like the Ducks from last year... it only will continue. :D A very big 2 points tonight as well.

We got a point. I'm happy. No I'm not happy because we lost. I am happy because seeing Scotty skate again... made me wanna cry happy tears. He looked so good out there, like he had never missed a day of skating. It was awesome! The Weight pass to Bobby Ryan that resulted in our lone goal was awesome!!!! They played pretty dang good tonight. A nice physical game. We should have won, but SJ stole it. That's why I don't like shootouts. That means it becomes anyones game. :-/ I don't think they deserved the win. But that's just the way it goes. Once Weight gets comfortable with our team, his famous passes will be nice to watch. :) Today was a good example of how nicely he is able to do that. (And because I still miss Andy Mac I'll just mention he had a goal and an assist tonight with St.Louis)

We'll have our revenge on SJ on Tuesday.

This was a pretty bad game. I do give them a pass though, losing Andy Mac can definately mess up team chemistry, but we get Scotty back for Sunday's game, so I do NOT expect to lose that game. I know Scotty wont be at 100% but I do know team morale should be up...and they should want to win for him. So anyway...I left this game at the 2nd period. I can NOT remember ever doing that to the Ducks, but I needed to send a message to them. Whether the Ducks noticed or not (NOT), my message was I'm not staying for the 3rd period when they play that badly.

Game 33: Ducks vs. Canucks

Aside from the 1st period (which seems to be the period the Ducks never really get into) I think we played a pretty decent game... had a nice rally at the end that didn't work but they tried. Which means I'm not upset! :) Sometimes the game just doesn't go your way, even when you play well enough to win. Canucks were just lucky Scotty didn't come back tonight.

Perry had a pretty good game with 2 goals. Tonight he matched his goal total for all of last season, and we're only 1/3 of the way in this season. Pretty good if ya ask me. Sammy had a good game as well. Ok let's go with the Ducks as a whole had a good game. Almost slipped in the 3rd but kept up enough pressure to go to OT and win it. :) Hooray! 4 out of a possible 6 points on this road trip.. not bad.

A trade should be happening somewhat soon. That's if Scotty will be back Wednesday, which is his projected return day. I'm so excited!! :D My sister is probably more excited than I am, but if Teemu returns, then I'll feel her excitement x10.

Wednesday can't get here soon enough! :)

I can't be mad with them tonight, this was a game where they tried. So long as they try I don't get too mad about losing. They appeared pretty tired from my viewpoint... and that's to be expected. Hooray Hooray!! Another game where they kept up the pace. In the 3rd, Chicago looked a little tired eh? Well they did have that last minute goal around the 1:30 mark, but then Kunitz gets the empty netter, and with that the final score of 5 to 3. :) Good game good game... Now on to tomorrow... :)

In case you haven't heard...

.. if you are a Ducks fan that lives under a rock.. I'd like to announce that Scotty is officially a Duck again. He's expected to be playing in 7 to 10 days...

..now expect for a defensemen to be gone. Schneider, O'donnel, and Beauchemin are all candidates for this. The most likely to leave, in my opinion, is O'donnel. But who knows..

Oh mannn. Today was such a good day to be a Ducks fan. I tell ya what. This was such an entertaining game to be honest. It was fast paced, and there were fights breaking out, and we won. Whew. and the cherry on top of course was when the jumbotron proudly displayed a message that said: Wednesday December 5th Press Conference 6:30PM. People started cheering. Then an image of Brian Burke appears, and the video plays. "We’re here to make what I would consider a major announcement and that is that Scott Niedermayer has elected to return and play for the Anaheim Ducks." and the screen goes black as everyone erupts with cheers and the opening video for the game begins.

A nice dominant game for the Ducks. And 7 to 10 days from now... the greatest hockey player STILL playing... will be on the ice in a Ducks uniform.

We played much better tonight. And I expected quite a few goals because when the Ducks get shut out, they usually take it out on the net the following game! Good Job Ducks!! Nicely played game.

I had to listen to all of it on the radio so I can't really give a detailed review of the game, but the main point that I can point out is that we WON. And got 2 points. :) Yay. GO DUCKS!

Yup. The score really speaks for itself. I'm not putting all the blame on the ref's but they sure as hell didn't help. There were 4 or 5 (Ahlers lost count) 5 on 3 chances for Vancouver. From the 2nd period on, we were in the box most of that time. Ducks appeared to just give up WHICH I HATE. I can not STAND IT when a team gives up. Points are valuable. They're acting like they're going to automatically be in the playoffs. YOU HAVE TO GET THERE FIRST! How do you get there.. POINTS. POINTS THAT YOU DONT GIVE UP!!!! >:-O I hope Randy Carlyle rips them a new one in the locker room. If you watch the 1st period you'd have no idea that they played as poorly as they did. The 1st period was their ONLY strong point in the game. 2nd and 3rd period was a JOKE!

And giving Vancouver's God goalie a shutout just pisses me off. Yea he's a great goalie, but the way they worship him... its borderline obsessive. Giguere has the same save percentage he has. So I'm announcing this now, Giguere is a God too. :) I feel better now.

Ohhh MY God.. if you missed this game. Wow! LOL. First period was a period to forget, but period 2 brought on the comeback... and period 3 was a doozie!!! So Getzlaf tallied 2 goals, and Kunitz scored the goal that put us ahead (aka game winning goal). This game was so AWESOME!! The last couple of minutes looked grim for us again. Got another last minute penalty... and THEN we got ANOTHER penalty after that... so the Queenies pull their goalie and it's a 6 on 3 situation. WOW... but the 3 players on the ice stood their ground and WE WON!!! :D :D :D :D Woooooooo.

Queens actually got a non-goal. It woulda been a goal if we hadn't taken a penalty resulting in a blow of the whistle... but for once I was happy we commited a penalty LOL because it stopped them from tieing the game up. Whew.. close call. Hahaha. Queen fans are probably pissed about that, but I really don't care... it gave them a PP and then that 6 on 3... not my fault their team SUCKS.

Penalties at the very end of a game are no bueno. The Penalty Pronger took however, can be described as a good penalty because it prevented (though I should only say delayed) a goal. But then of course they score on the power play so it goes into OT. Then a shootout, which I didn't want because it wasn't Giguere in our net, and Bryz was in the other net! Oy vey.

The plus side of tonight is, 1 point even though we lost.. and I won the trivia challenge. *does the cabbage patch dance*

Write this one off as the 3rd loss to Phoenix this year... umm what? That SO doesn't sound right, but it's true. Phoenix IS playing a lot better this year than in years past but Carlyle still puts in the backup against them when a starting goalie should be in. Not a bash on Hiller though, he played a pretty decent game and faced more shots on net than Bryz did. I just think Jiggy would be a better fit between the pipes against Phoenix.

Congrats to Sammy, he's now a proud father of a baby girl. :)

Ryan Getzlaf has been signed to a 5 year deal with the Ducks. He would have entered free agency this summer. He's at 5 years for 26.5 million. GOOD MOVE by Burkie.

Bertuzzi has been cleared to play and can return as soon as tonights game vs. Dallas.
Schneider has also made his way off the injury list
Which means the Ducks are COMPLETELY injury free for the first time this season.

Game 22: Ducks @ Stars

This is a very irritating loss because it shouldn't have happened. I'm not gonna sit here pointing fingers because that's lame, but this loss shouldn't have happened. Stars ended up with a 5-on-3 in the 3rd and capitalized on it twice which put them in the lead. There were MANY chances by us to tie up the game and nothing.. Poo.

With that being said, I think I remember we lost last year right before thanksgiving, and won the game after thanksgiving. So maybe it'll be the same way this year. So I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving (and for those in Canada who already had Thanksgiving... hope you have a good day tomorrow?! LOL)

Put the 10 minute rule the Ducks have into play tonight. Be as pissed off as you want about the loss for 10 minutes after the game ends, and then move on and look toward the next game! :) It's only 2 days away.

Bryz is now a desert dog. In fact, he's playing RIGHT NOW against LA.

I'll miss ya Bryz! Prove you're number 1 goalie material. Phoenix really got a steal.

Ducks will be seeing Bryz soon enough. Friday.

Woooo! Not only a come from behind type of win, but a CONVINCING win!! :) And in regulation too! YAYYYY!!!! Gave a nice little reality check to the Queens. Their announcers were hillarious too by the way. They must've mentioned about 8 times that they're the "comeback kids" and that it's possible for them to do to the Ducks what they did to Dallas. Right. That's gonna happen... (In case you missed it or have been living under a rock, the Kings came back to beat Dallas down 5-0 with 5 minutes 45 seconds left in the 3rd period. They tallied 5 goals in 5 minutes and 7 seconds.) That type of thing only happens once in a blue moon and now they think it's going to happen all the time! RIOT!

Perry was just shy of a hat trick tonight. I was hoping he'd get it. Yelling at the TV for him to stay out there for the empty net. LOL. Oh well. He's been ON FIRE this season. 11 goals.

Sweet win. I love beating those chumps. :)

I'd much rather they have won it in regulation though and NOT give those retards up the street 1 point but whatever, I'll take this, we still beat them. :) Wooo. I have to say, if you've never encountered a Queens fan, consider yourself lucky. They are the most ruthless fans on the planet. Raider nation in hockey form. Rude yelling things during the Anthem while a sargent is singing it (that's just distrubingly rude), and ruthless when they even score 1 goal. [[Alright I'm being unfair, there ARE some Queen's fans out there that know how to behave, but lets make that keyword SOME]].

So who saw that Pronger fight eh? Pronger must have really been ticked off because he doesn't fight much, but that retard who provoked it deserved it if he made Pronger that mad. Don't piss that guy off. Pronger knocked that kid out for a lil bit and knocked his mouth piece right outta his mouth. Just don't piss him off.

I should add in don't piss Getzlaf off either, but I like watching him when he's pissed. He's got spunk. And he takes his anger out not only on the player(s) that pissed him off, he takes it out on the net too.

I dunno what to say about this one. We played... well enough to win. Phoenix being one tied for last place in the NHL should have been a breeze for the Ducks, but you know what they say. "Any Team Can Beat Any Team On Any Given Night."

I do have to say though, Schneider just keeps on impressing me and I am SO glad he is on our team.

This is a hard loss to take, but the bright point is.. well we did get a point. So it's not a total loss, but a loss is a loss. LOL I just contradicted myself there, but you should know what I mean.
